Croatian Geological Society just made Prof. Mladen Garašić, PhD, its honorary member

after it was chosen to be Vice President of Operation of the Union Internationale de Spéléologie, UIS-a in July,

in his 4th mandate in the UIS Bureau,
where he was secretary from 2013 to 2017 and from 2017 to 2022,
and treasurer from 20222 to 2025;
he was also Vice President of the Fédération Spéléologique Européenne (FSE) – from 2015 to 2019.
We are grateful to Prof. Mladen Garašić also for his work on investigation and protection of caves and karst,
and on his activities towards UNESCO,
one of the results being 13 September becoming
International Day of Caves and Karst.
